Event Description

The Level 1 Certification workshop will prepare participants to take the Google Educator Level 1 certification exam. Level 1 certification indicates a fundamental understanding of using Google Tools in the classroom and confirms standard technology implementation skills. Educators who pass the certification test will be able to advertise their status with a personalized certificate and badge. Certification lasts 36 months.

Presenter

Lisa Schwartz is a Regional Educational Technology Coordinator for the Learning Technology Center (LTC), an Illinois State Board of Education program that delivers technology and educational services to all K-12 school districts in the state located in ROE #1 in Quincy, IL. Lisa facilitates professional learning events regionally, provides consultation and support to school districts related to digital learning, technology integration, and develops instructional materials for educators throughout the central Illinois region. Prior to joining the LTC, Lisa was an educator for 19 years in the Quincy Public School district. She is currently serving as the Western Illinois Computing Educator Chapter President and served on the Illinois Computing Educators governing board of directors.

Google Level 1 Certification @ DuPage Institute Day

Event Description

The Level 1 Certification workshop will prepare participants to take the Google Educator Level 1 certification exam (not included). Level 1 certification indicates a fundamental understanding of using Google Tools in the classroom and confirms standard technology implementation skills. This workshop will provide hands-on time to practice essential tasks necessary to pass the test. Please note: this is not an introduction to Google. Participants are required to have a Google account and an internet-connected device to attend.

Within her 26 years in education, Nicole has served on two board of directors and has been nominated for and/or received several awards for excellence in teaching. She has 15 years of classroom experience along with 10 years of instructional coaching experience. Nicole holds Masters degrees in Administration & Supervision and Technology in Education. The Google for Education site states: Level 2 status indicates that an educator is able to successfully integrate a wider range of Google for Education tools and other technologies in order to transform their teaching practice. Participants must have a Google account and an internet-connected device to attend. While participation in a Google Level 1 workshop is not required, it is recommended.

Event Description

This workshop will prepare participants to take the Google Educator Level 1 certification exam. Certification indicates a fundamental understanding of using Google Tools in the classroom and confirms standard technology implementation skills. This workshop is designed for teachers that have a solid base of implementing the Google tools in their classroom and is not designed as an introduction to Google tools. Educators who pass the certification test can advertise their status with a personalized certificate and badge. Certification lasts 36 months. Participants should bring a Chromebook or laptop to the workshop.
