The National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) streamlines application contracting and sets common expectations between schools/districts and marketplace providers. Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA)
A legislative brief that introduces requirements under the Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA), which provides additional guarantees that student data is protected when collected by educational technology companies, and that data is used for beneficial purposes only (105 ILCS 85).
Reasonable Security Practices
The Learning Technology Center selected 43 security best practices that all districts should implement to comply with the Student Online Personal Protection Act. The practices align with CIS Controls, a globally recognized cybersecurity standard, and are vetted by Illinois school district technology leaders.

Computer Science Legislative Brief (1.0, 12/3/21)
In anticipation of Illinois’ forthcoming K-12 computer science learning standards, the LTC has created a 1-page legislative brief summarizing each district’s obligations under the new curricular mandates. In this brief, you’ll also find links and citations to the relevant, codified legislation, making it easier to further your understanding of these laws and how you’ll fulfill their requirements in your district.
