Join the Leadership in Personalized and Digital Learning Program
Leadership in Personalized and Digital Learning (LPDL) is a capacity-building program designed to meet the professional learning needs of principals and district leaders as they transition to digital and personalized learning. District leaders are engaged in real-world, value-added activities that are part of a proven cycle of capacity building for their students, teachers, and communities—activities that are essential to the school’s transformation. As a participant in the program you will have face-to-face and online opportunities to work with trained facilitators and other principals.
- Understand why personalized and digital learning is important for students and explore models to support this learning.
- Create clear goals for personalized and digital learning in their schools.
- Establish a culture in their school community that supports personalized and digital learning.
- Engage stakeholder support for personalized and digital learning.
- Identify digital tools and curriculum that support personalized and digital learning in their schools.
- Develop systems that support the transition to personalized and digital learning.
- Use digital tools and social media for their own professional practice and lifelong learning so that they can model the use of blended and digital learning.
- Support teachers’ transition to personalized and digital learning with ongoing professional development and evaluation.
- Understand the infrastructure needs personalized and digital learning programs require.
- Develop and implement a Personalized and Digital Learning Road Map for their schools.
- Participate in a network of principals implementing personalized and digital learning.
- Learn to use data for program evaluation and continuous improvement.

- Session 1: Knowing Your Why and Developing Your Vision:
- Topics include personalized learning models (competency-based, blended, etc), Leadership and an introspective look at yourself as a leader, establishing your needs and the needs of your schools, and identifying your allies
- Session 2: Culture and Change Management
- Topics include: Understanding culture, considering the culture in your school, leadership & culture interactions, leading change; framework for leading change in your school, engaging stakeholders
- Session 3: Shifting Teaching & Learning
- Topics include: personalized learning and teaching, supporting the whole student and all students (learner agency, SEL), the leader’s role in observing and evaluating
- Session 4: Human Capacity, Professional Learning, Systems for Transformation
- Topics include: elements of effective professional learning, digital learning competencies, examining your school’s professional learning, distributed leadership & coaching teachers, professional learning models, community partnerships and effective communication, systems (human and technological), devices & approaches, rethinking current structures
- Online pre-work component with online readings, videos, activities and facilitated online discussions.
- Face-to-face component with provided presentations for facilitators to use and adapt, small and large group activities and discussions, multimedia, and tech tool options
- Online follow-up component with online readings, videos, activities and facilitated online discussions
- Program: $350. The $350 fee is a one-time payment that includes all program fees, including the four face-to-face meetings, lunches, and online programming. Participants receive 36 PD hours upon completion of the program.
- Program with Administrator Academy Credit: Participants may choose to recieve Administrator Academy credit for the final session of the program at no additional cost. Participants receive 30 PD hours and 1 AA credit upon completion of the program.
- Program with Graduate Credit: Participants may choose to receive 2 graduate credit units through Lindenwood University. Lindenwood will charge a fee, payable to them, for issuing the graduate credit.
