Media Literacy – Helping Students Make Sense of Their Digital World (South Cook)

July 6 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

$35

Can your students spot fake news? Do they know how to evaluate sources for research? Are they aware of how social media works and its impact on their everyday life?

Today’s students are immersed in more digital media than any previous generation, making media literacy skills more critical than ever. Join this session to develop your own media literacy awareness, explore relevant resources and lesson materials, and prepare to teach key media literacy concepts to your students.

This workshop will be interactive; you will experience lessons the way students will – rich with self-reflection, analysis, and discussion. This workshop is also geared towards grades 6-12, and will address the new Media Literacy mandate in HB0234.

Please bring a device (laptop, Chromebook, tablet) to this event. Lunch will be provided.
