In today’s world, students are immersed in technology. From social media to fake news to strangers online, students encounter countless technological challenges on a daily basis. How can we as educators help our students be outstanding digital citizens? Are we doing all we can to teach students the skills they need to safely navigate the Internet? In this workshop, teachers will gain insight into today’s learners and how to help them become media literate. We’ll also explore existing digital citizenship programs to help you get started.
Nicole Zumpano, Regional Educational Technology Coordinator. Nicole is a National Board Certified Teacher as well as an adjunct professor at three universities. Within her 26 years in education, Nicole has served on two board of directors and has been nominated for and/or received several awards for excellence in teaching. She has 15 years of classroom experience along with 10 years of instructional coaching experience. Nicole holds Masters degrees in Administration & Supervision and Technology in Education.
