The STEM Lab and Makerspace Starter Kit (South Cook ISC)

You’re excited to build a STEM Lab or Makerspace – but where do you start? This workshop will provide an overview of key decision-making processes you’ll need to consider as you bring your STEM Lab or Makerspace to life. Along the way, we’ll also discuss recommendations for the space, staff, curriculum, and equipment you’ll need to make your STEM Lab or Makerspace vision a reality. 3D printing, robotics, coding, and game design will all be explored in this session, so join us and discover how you can integrate hands-on STEM learning into your school’s curriculum.

The Robots are Coming! Integrating Robotics Across the Curriculum

Looking to learn more about integrating robotics into your curriculum? Interested in discovering the latest models designed for use by K-8 students?

Join us for this hands-on workshop, where participants will have the chance to test drive some of today’s most popular K-8 robots (Micro:bits, Sphero, Makey-Makey, Dash & Dot, Cosmo, and Root, to name a few). Participants will also be able to travel to multiple concurrent stations, where they can test robots using pre-programmed task cards or get creative by programming a task card of their own.

3D Printing FUNdamentals – Hands-On

Is your district interested in adding 3D printing to the curriculum? Does your district currently have 3D printers that are simply gathering dust?

Join us for an informative, hands-on session where we’ll explore the basics of 3D printers and 3D printing. During this 6-hour workshop, we’ll dive deep into the fundamentals of 3D printing, including the software needed for successful printing, the best printer models for education, best practices for planning a 3D printing space, and some curriculum integration essentials. 3D printing has SO many real-world, practical applications and can be easily integrated at any grade level and across the curriculum.
