For more than a decade now, social media has played a noteworthy role in many people’s lives – students and educators included. During that time, social media as often left outside the classroom or treated as a distraction from engaged learning. But as some educators have now discovered, today’s social media platforms can be used as a productive learning tool – with the right practice and planning, of course.
Tune in to this week’s edition of “Be Connected” to learn more about how social media can play a role in your classroom’s learning routines. During this session, we’ll talk about which platforms are being used in schools, who is using them, how they’re being used, and more. Be sure to bring your questions about and experiences with using social media in the classroom along, as well!
Be Connected is a weekly webinar series from the LTC focused on facilitating open discussions about pertinent topics within Illinois’ edtech community. Hosted by the LTC’s Chris Wherley and Eric Muckensturm, each session will focus on a specific topic and provide space for participants to ask and answer questions in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Each week will feature a different core topic and a fresh opportunity to connect with your peers. So, be sure to check the LTC events calendar routinely so that you can join in the discussion and Be Connected!
