The Google Suite of tools opens up so many possibilities for our students beyond word processing and creating slide shows. During this workshop, participants will look at new strategies for leveraging the full capacity of the Google Suite and other amazing digital tools, all while learning how to effectively distribute and manage these activities through Google Classroom. From creating hyperdocs to creating video with Adobe Spark, we will explore how to leverage Chrome and the Google tools effectively in your classroom. Join us for a fun-filled day of Google learning! Participants should bring a Chromebook or laptop to the workshop.

The Level 2 Certification workshop will prepare participants to take the Google Educator Level 2 certification exam.

The Google for Education site states: Level 2 status indicates that an educator is able to successfully integrate a wider range of Google for Education tools and other technologies in order to transform their teaching practice. Participants will have time to build content and share with other attendees. Participants will receive a voucher to take the Google Level 2 Exam for free. Participants should bring a Chromebook or laptop and a mouse to this workshop.

Unlock the creative potential of the Chromebook and move beyond using the device for word processing, productivity, and organization. The session will explore the creative potential of the Chromebook to give your students the ability to craft amazing multimedia masterpieces! Participants will explore various apps, web tools and extensions available for students to create multimedia such as interactive images, video, and audio. In addition, learning strategies and thoughtful approaches to Chromebook creation will be woven throughout. Participants should bring a Chromebook or laptop to the workshop.

Get Google Certified! Google Level 1 Exam Prep

Event Description

The Level 1 Certification workshop will prepare participants to take the Google Educator Level 1 certification exam. Level 1 certification indicates a fundamental understanding of using Google Tools in the classroom and confirms standard technology implementation skills. This workshop is designed for teachers that have a solid base of implementing the Google tools in their classroom and is not designed as an introduction to the Google tools. Educators who take this workshop will be provided a voucher to take the exam for FREE! Once they pass the certification test will be able to advertise their status with a personalized certificate and badge. Certification lasts 36 months. Participants should bring a Chromebook or laptop to the workshop.

Google for Administrative Assistants

Event Description

Google Apps for Administrative Assistants is an introductory session to Google’s G-Suite apps. This workshop will dive into the ins-and-outs of this amazing platform and help get you on the road to success. We will outline in detail how administrative assistants can streamline their workflow to the operations of their schools and districts. G-Suite is all you need to do your best work! Participants will learn how to use G-Suite to help build their capacity to work more efficiently and effectively through the use of Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Forms, Calendar, and Gmail.

Joe Cipfl is a Regional Educational Technology Coordinator for the Learning Technology Center (LTC), an Illinois State Board of Education program that delivers technology and educational services to all K-12 school districts in the state. He facilitates professional learning events regionally; provides consultation and support to school districts related to digital learning, technology integration, and technology infrastructure; and develops instructional materials for educators throughout the southern Illinois region and the state.

Joe is a veteran educator in both K-12 and higher education in the areas of science and technology and is a frequent presenter on instructional and educational technology. He is a certified teacher, a certified school administrator, and certified Google Educator. Before his role as Regional Coordinator, Joe was a science/technology teacher, university instructor, and building-level technology coordinator.
