Presenter Biography
Heather is currently serving as the 6th Grade Enhanced Technology Teacher at Troy30c School District. She is an Educational Technology Specialist with a passion for the classroom. Inside her classroom, her students work on beginning coding skills which foster computational thinking skills and design thinking. Previously to working at Troy, Heather taught 6th-grade math at Iroquois West Middle School in which she utilized flipped learning and center-based math activities with the use of Chromebooks. Heather is still passionate about self-paced learning and has set up her current classroom to reflect a learner-centered environment.
Heather also serves as DeICE Chapter President of the Illinois Computing Educators as well as the Illinois Computing Educators Governing Board. Heather received ISTE’s Young Educator Scholarship to attend ISTE 2018 in Chicago.
