Presenter Biography

Eric Santos is a National Board Certified Teacher currently serving as an instructional coach with a focus on technology integration. He is an experienced STEM educator whose former students have won multiple science and STEM competitions. Eric also writes secondary science teacher certification coursework as an independent contractor for public school district clients. As a grant-writer, Eric has secured nearly $40,000 in educational materials for his students over his career.

In the classroom, Eric provides his students authentic project-based learning experiences to develop them into tech-savvy, socially conscious problem solvers. Beyond the classroom, he leverages his experience as a Google Certified Trainer to develop meaningful professional development for educators at all stages of their career.

As a tech coach, Eric has experience supporting schools with 1:1 devices and take-home rollout, including Chromebooks, MacBooks, and iPads. He has supported teachers, students, and parents in transitioning from traditional to Standards Based Grading. He also has led development of digital Coaching Cycle tracking systems, Badging systems, Pineapple Charts peer observation systems, and Google Certification training for his staff.

Eric has facilitated workshops and PD sessions with educators at regional and national conferences, and excels at creating learning opportunities that are responsive to teacher needs and immediately applicable to their classrooms.

Eric has a M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction and a MAED with a Technology Specialist focus. In his spare time he blogs about technology in education at www.BetterTeaching.org. He currently resides in Oak Park with his wife and two children.
