Professional Learning Aligned to the National Standards for Quality Online Teaching

The National Standards for Quality (NSQ) Online Learning were updated and released in 2019. The Quality Online Teachers standards, a framework for schools, districts and state agencies to support online instruction, provide guidance for virtual teachers as well as for teachers moving to remote learning during the Pandemic.

Join this presentation to learn more about the NSQ standards and a newly released FREE professional learning portal aligned to the standards. The portal “unpacks” the Quality Online Teaching standards for educators.  Teachers complete a self-reflection instrument related to their current online instructional practices and then, the portal matches learning resources to the individual teacher’s needs and strengths.  Illinois Virtual School’s Fundamentals of Online and Remote learning series (which includes self-paced online courses that will help familiarize you with online teaching and learning while building your educational technology capacity) will be featured as one of the resources available to teachers across the nation.
