We will discuss the outline of the “Three Reads” strategy and how to use it to bring a student’s close reading skills into their math problem-solving practice. – first read- Find the literary elements of the story.

– second read- Find the quantities and tell how they relate to the story.

– third read – Determine the strategy they will use to solve the problem and write the equation/solve the problem. teach learners how to break a word/story problem into parts that allow them to come at a word problem with confidence and a plan.
