Leverage Data to Differentiate for Dual Language Learners Day One!

Josh Perdomo, Director of EL and World Languages at CUSD300, will share how their district focuses on collecting and analyzing real time data with a digital progress monitoring tool and uses the resulting data to make informed instructional decisions for dual language learners. Teachers are able to use digital and print resources in a blended model to address student needs. Differentiation can occur from day one based on instantaneous reports which leads to accelerated learning for all students. With this best practice, daily instruction is proactive and allows for immediate targeted intervention, as well as promotes acceleration. The digital tool, which is a component of the district’s authentic Spanish literacy program, also invites all stakeholders, including parents, to participate in their child’s learning.
