Assessing Your Essential Cyber Hygiene with the CIS Critical Security Controls and CSAT

This session will introduce the Center for Internet Security (CIS) Critical Security Controls (v7.1) and Implementation Group 1 (a prioritized set of Safeguards to ensure your district has essential cyber hygiene in place). The CIS Controls Self Assessment Tool (CSAT) will be described and CSAT Pro will be demonstrated, helping attendees learn how to use CSAT to assess their CIS Controls program

Presenter Bio

Aaron Piper is a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at CIS. He focuses on automation, tooling, and measurement efforts for the CIS Critical Security Controls, and is the Product Owner for the CIS Controls Self Assessment Tool (CIS CSAT). Prior to working at CIS, Piper worked in cybersecurity for the Federal Government for more than a decade.
