This month, we’ll be joined by the LTC’s IT team for a cybersecurity response workshop (9:00AM to 12:00PM). Our regular meeting will follow (12:00PM to 1:30PM)
During this engaging and critical workshop, your district’s leadership team (including superintendents and technology directors) will participate in a Cybersecurity Tabletop Exercise. This session simulates a real-world cyber attack in a controlled, scenario-based environment to test and enhance your district’s response strategies.
Workshop Objectives:
Engage in Role-Playing Scenarios: Participants will navigate through the process of managing a cybersecurity incident as it unfolds, making real-time decisions based on their roles and responsibilities.
Assess Response Plans: This exercise will test your current cybersecurity measures and protocols to identify strengths and uncover potential weaknesses in your response plan.
Receive Expert Feedback: IT professionals will monitor the exercise, providing insights and feedback on the effectiveness of your actions and decision-making processes.
Improve Preparedness: Utilize the outcomes of this exercise to refine your strategies, close any gaps in your processes, and strengthen your overall cybersecurity posture.
This proactive approach is akin to a fire drill for cyber attacks, aiming to prepare your team for actual incidents by ensuring that all systems and protocols perform optimally under stress and equip your leadership with the knowledge and skills to safeguard your organization against future cyber threats.
