You will have the opportunity to play with several types of robots (Ozobot, Robot Mouse, Dash and Dot, Kibo, Mindstorms EV3, LEGO WeDo 2.0) in this hands-on, problem-based learning session. You will build (if applicable) and program the robot, using your own device, then we will complete a series of challenges. After each exploration session we will regroup and discuss our experiences and classroom applications of the technology to promote innovative thinking.

Life-long learner and educator, Becky McDowell, grew up and landed her first teaching job in South Dakota. Known for her go-with-the-flow and flexible nature, she has taken on many brand new roles like her current one as the first K-5 STEM teacher for Barrington 220 in IL. In this role her main job is to play with LEGO robots – and teach students to do the same! Becky’s goal is to develop future ready students who think critically & creatively, collaborate, and communicate and use the Engineering Design Process to solve problems. Always looking for new challenges she keeps busy with freelance editorial and product development work, regional & national presentations, and edutaining her preK twins.
