Minecraft EDU: Craft, Code, and Learn!

Tue. November 7, 2023 | 8:30 am - 3:00 pm CST

Your students already love Minecraft – now let’s leverage the Education version as a teaching and learning powerhouse!

How does Minecraft EDU differ from its entertainment-focused counterpart? Take the open-world creativity and flexibility of Minecraft and add collaborative functionality, downloadable world templates, ready-made lessons, and build battles, and you’ve got Minecraft EDU. With Minecraft EDU in hand, you can integrate game-based learning into any subject area or use its familiar, gamified learning environment as the basis for a standalone after-school program.

Join us to how to get your students started in Minecraft EDU using in-game tutorials, as well plan lessons, develop authentic assessments, and even integrate block or Python coding, 3D printing, and other STEM concepts directly in the game.

This hands-on workshop will be facilitated by a Minecraft Education Mentor and requires no prior experience with the game. Please bring a laptop or Chromebook that has Minecraft Education installed. A demo account will be provided to all attendees.
