EdTechTeacher is proud to offer two exciting online courses in collaboration with the Illinois Learning Technology Centers and an opportunity to prepare you for the Google Educator Level 1 certification. Getting the Most Out of Google Classroom, Docs, Drive, and Slides and Getting More Out of Forms, Sheets, Drawings and Chrome are online courses featuring EdTechTeacher’s renowned professional development. Each course will consist of four live-online mini-workshops led by EdTechTeacher Instructor and Illinois resident, Ben Sondgeroth and are designed to accommodate users of all levels.
Each mini-workshop will be followed immediately by an immersive online learning module in which participants will explore G Suite for Education content in greater detail. The blended learning environment allows participants to explore content and topics at their own pace and benefit from Ben’s experience, expertise, and support.
What does each online course include?
4 Instructor-Led Mini-Workshops
Each new topic will be introduced weekly in a live, instructor-led “mini-workshop” via Google Hangouts. EdTechTeacher Instructor Ben Sondgeroth will discuss the upcoming new topic and provide participants with the opportunity to ask questions. Workshops will begin at 7pm Central Time and will be recorded for later viewing. (Workshops must be attended or viewed to receive PDCs or college credit.)
4 Online Learning Modules
Following each mini-workshop, participants will complete an online module that provides a deeper dive into the content discussed in the mini-workshop. These modules will take an average of one to two hours to complete and will be facilitated through EdTechTeacher’s online course system. The online work will also include a discussion forum that allows participants to engage in conversation with the EdTechTeacher instructor and other members of the course, helping create a community of learners.
12 Continuing Education Credits Available Upon Completion of the Course
Participants who complete the following requirements will receive 12 Professional Development Hours toward their Illinois Licensure renewal.
- Watch all mini-workshops; these do not have to be attended live, but participants must document that they watch the video by writing a short reflection of the topics covered in the session.
- Participate in all of the module discussions by posting an individual reflection post, as well as commenting on at least one other person’s post.
